History
Alexandra Lightway
was born on a small planet on the Rim. Her
grandparents had help to settle it and neither of her parents found
either
reason, or money, to leave.
Life wasn't easy. She grew up on a farm with three older and four
younger siblings.
The family made enough money to support them, but
that was about it.
Then tragedy struck. An epidemic came to
the planet, killing a third
of all the people infected. Pleas to the Alliance went unanswered.
Alex's mother
and three of her siblings (one older and two younger)
died. Her father never fully recovered. Alex was also
thrust into
the role of oldest female, responsible for cooking, cleaning, raising
the younger children, and working
on the farm. She hated the role.
Her father knew that, but there wasn't much he could do.
Finally some luck broke
their way. A contact of her fathers came to
the farm to buy some produce. He got to talk with Alex and thought
she
might make a good companion. Knowing that the family couldn't
afford to send Alex to the Academy, he offered to sponsor
her…so long
as Alex paid him back. Alex agreed, and convinced her father with out
actually telling him
she'd be going to the companion academy.
While at the Academy she excelled, in part because of her gift to make
people
feel at ease. When she left the academy she felt prepared to
make her life this way. However, the first couple
of 'clients' she
had made her rethink where she was working. She then decided to find
a small ship and travel
with them, getting clients wherever she could.
Once Alex has served a client, she is much more likely to accept an
offer
by that client then find a new one. While not shunned by most
other Companions she is looked down upon because of
her choices.
When asked about the war, Alex will normally say she support
reunification however the truth is she dislikes
the Alliance and truly
supported the Browncoats.
